Enhance a Colour’s, Print on Carpet division, creates dye-sublimated carpets for all types of clients and events. We recently did these incredible custom carpets for artist Paul Druecke’s exhibit at the Lynden Sculpture Garden.
The challenge was to take the existing Milwaukee plat maps from 1877 and 1926 and to reproduce them as powerful area rugs so that they could be read as people stood on them or were walking on them.
Artist Paul Druecke had the plat maps that he wanted to turn into carpets. There were to be a total of four custom rugs produced; two that were 9 Ft. x 9 Ft. and two that were 4 1/2 Ft. x 7 Ft. in size. After color balancing the artist’s files so that we could get the best quality possible, we dye-sublimated printed the images into 11 ounce carpet, trimmed them to size and put a black fabric edging around the perimeter of each.
