Within a retail environment with a very limited space in the heart of New York City, we needed to create a miniature golf experience to coincide with the release of the New Kirby Mario Golf Takeover Game from Nintendo Worldwide.
Working with Tangram Intl., who was the lead on the project, Enhance a Colour’s “Print On Carpet” team created four different full color golf holes as area rugs; one large golf course hole image at 20 ft. long by 7 ft. wide and three smaller hole pieces at 10 ft. long by 48 in. wide.
Using Print on Carpet’s promotional grade carpet for the short term event we were able to work within the budget, but at the same create the feeling Nintendo was looking for. Print on Carpet’s promotional grade carpet which is a 7 oz. smooth finish carpet has a rubberized backing so that it does not slip and move around on the floor. The Promo Grade Carpet, Dye-sub Prints fabulously with bright vivid colors and it laser cuts like butter, so that literally any shape can be created.
We cut holes for the pin placement and using heavier carpet underneath in wider and wider circles we were able to build up the pin placement with the hole area so that golfers were truly able to roll in, holes in one. The event went on for only a few days, but there were hundreds who had the opportunity to play miniature golf in New York City.
